Hello and welcome!

Let me tell you a bit about me…

I’m Joy and I’m a professional illustrator, specialising in maps and lettering, mostly for big clients in the publishing industry. You’ll generally find me working from my little studio overlooking the garden here at home in Nottinghamshire.

Before I moved here, I lived right by the sea in Brighton for many years but my great affection for the UK coastline began as a child, as it does for many of us, with frequent family trips to our nearest coast, which for me included the beautiful beaches of North Norfolk.

Mapping Joy!

I decided I’d love to recreate that feeling of getting away to somewhere special – in map form. A beautifully designed artwork, with the feel of a map but which captures a unique experience too with hand drawn illustrations…and that’s how Maps of Joy came into being!

I’ve also made my maps customisable, so that you can choose to add your own location and bespoke icon to make it even more personal.
