Angharad and Dan wanted a map to commemorate the epic cycle trip they took around the gorgeous Chianti region of Italy, culminating in a stay in Rome, where Dan got down on one knee and well, I’ll let them tell you…
What inspired your Map of Joy?
Our amazing one month long cycling trip around beautiful Tuscany in 2013. We wanted a way in which to remember it other than in a facebook photo album or other such album.
Where does your Map of Joy live in your home?
It currently lives in the heart of our new home, the kitchen so that everyone can enjoy it.
What do your friends and family think of it? Have you had any comments?
They have definitely noticed it and commented on how lovely it looks- it provides a good talking point when asked to explain what all the personalised icons mean to you – I love explaining them!
What was your favourite part of creating your Map of Joy?
It was all fab….but probably dealing with Joy – very personable and professional, not to mention talented! Also to have something so unique and personal at the end of the process is fantastic.
How does it make you feel?
Nostalgic – I often find myself looking at it and remembering the things that each icon pertains to.
What would you say to someone considering ordering a Map of Joy?
It is well worth the money for such a personal and bespoke piece of artwork that you will treasure forever.
